About Printips

Printips is a monthly newsletter subscription service for printers. Printips provides a fully formatted newsletter that is customized by the printer by adding company logo and contact information.

Printips is available in several electronic formats:

• Quark Xpress 6.0 for the Macintosh or Windows
• InDesign CS3 for the Macintosh or Windows
• Portable Document Format (PDF)
• Plain Text

Printips can be printed as designed in one- or two-spot color (color breaks are provided in the file). Or it can be used for content only and completely customized by the subscriber.

Each issue of Printips is consistent in design and layout. The newsletter is in four parts:

• A two-page lead story from one of five subjects areas (skills, applications, theory, equipment and processes, history);
• The Idea Corner presenting information intended to promote customer thinking about new print projects;
• Vocabulary of the Graphic Arts providing definitions of terms associated with the topic of the lead story;
• Tips & Tricks designed to improve customer's print buying habits; and
• Questions and Answers presenting a question related to the lead story and appropriate answers.

Printips has been published continuously since 1981. There have been three publishers, each also the owner of a printing company. This fact helps Printips keep abreast of the subjects and topics of greatest interest to print buyers and printing customers.
